SAFEGUARDING RISK

Children’s safety must come first, this is a core Ofsted expectation.
This entrance to Felden Hall School is narrow, enclosed and poorly visible, particularly in low light. Vehicles and children are forced to share the same confined space.
Not all pupils will be transported door-to-door. Taxis, staff cars and pedestrians will move through access point at the same time.
This creates a clear risk of serious injury, particularly for children who may have additional needs or reduced awareness of danger.
There are also concerns around site security. The open, accessible nature of the entrance raises questions about how effectively the school can control who enters and exits the site at all times.
Safeguarding should not rely on supervision alone.
It must be built into the environment, clearly, visibly, and without compromise.
