This is not a matter of opinion.

It is a case where expert evidence was ignored and problems were only acknowledged after approval.

Expert Warnings Ignored

Independent highway specialists, commissioned by local residents, concluded which we have access to:

“Serious highway safety problems… were not properly identified or evaluated before planning permission was granted.”

Their findings were clear:

1.    Longcroft Lane is effectively a single-track road (3m wide)

2.    There are no formal passing places

3.    Visibility is poor, with no pedestrian provision

4.    This creates a high risk of gridlock, unsafe manoeuvres, and restricted emergency access.

These concerns were raised before approval.

Council Now Admit Problems

After granting permission, the Council has since acknowledged:

“There are some issues… particularly in relation to movement along Longcroft Lane”

It has also confirmed that key information was “deficient” and is now seeking “voluntary mitigation measures”.

The Critical Failure

Expert concerns were raised

Evidence was provided

Permission was granted regardless
